Speedo's are over rated!!! I went one GrimmJeeper and figured out what speeds were...then just notched a couple speeds on the tach

  • Nice work - functional! Looks good.

When I die, I want to go out peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming my head off like the passengers in his car!

If you are a "Supertramp", wouldn't you give more than a little bit?

Why did you disconnect your front drive shaft like that? Would think that you' need the front tires pulling to get out of that jam you found yourself in. Also, you should be driving around more instead of stopping to disconnect drive shafts and take pictures of you looking sad next to your rig.

That's what's known as a quick disconnect drive shaft.

              Time for some pinion guards.

          • i broke the transmission housing at the tail shaft to adapter plate and had it welded. now im beefing up my rear crossmember and adding a brace to the rear output to help stabalize the tcase.

Holy shit guys, Jimmy is still alive!! Damn bro, where you been hiding? Good to see you come check in. Sucks about trans, but I had mine welded and seemed to work fine.

Welcome back Jimmy! Where's the carnage pics? Post up some pics when you get the cross member done.

          • went to rush springs in july and broke the tranny case going up a ledge / step. it happened on Friday and I kept adding fluid which made it the rest of the weekend.

in my down time I modified an old B&M

I had the bolt hole chunk of housing welded back and then reinstalled the 205

I removed the rear crossmember and skinned the bottom with a 1/4"plate that is 2 inches longer to help with the tcase brace.

There ya go. Nice repair job. It'll be interesting to see what kind of TC bracing you come up with.

          • here's the crossmember being skinned.
also the main brace to the rear output of the tcase

Hell yeah! Much better. Where's the video from that trip? I always enjoy wheelin videos.

          • I need to edit that video....

I took 2 transmission covers and made one nice one. made the smallest hole i could around the sticks.
Today i recieved 2 leather shift boots that i intend on modifying to accomodate the Tcase shifters

tomorrow my welder is coming over to tack the crossmember in place and then removed to weld fully

            • While i was cobbling the crossmember together, i was also slowly making a nicer cockpit. first with the long handle cable shifter on the removable section of the cage, and then filling in the old shifter hole in the cover, and making the t-case hole smaller. to do this i found another used cover and we graphed them into one nice one.

i then ordered 2 leather shifter boots and had them modified to work on the twin sticks. I just got them back today. i now need to make a bracket to hold the boot down.
I also made a cable tunnel for the shifter. i wanted the whole cover to removable easily.

              • July 7th is 20 years of owning my Blazer.
since its been such a huge part of my life I did a couple things to honor this.

the first thing was to recreate the first picture i ever took of the Blazer, to do this my daughter went and bought a new dress. She was 3 1/2 yrs old in the bottom picture. how time flies.

The next thing i did was got a tattoo
it will be colored in next month
